The Northampton Township Fire Department is made up of Career Staff and Volunteer
firefighters who work to protect the citizens of Northampton Township. Many people from
many different walks of life volunteer and work at the Fire Department. Our members and staff
are highly trained skilled professionals that come together to protect and serve the members of
our community.
Along with the career staff, our volunteer firefighters provide round the clock coverage for fires
and emergencies that may involve vehicle rescue, storm emergencies, emergency medical
services and hazardous materials. All training is free and provided by the Fire Department.

If interested in becoming a volunteer firefighter stop by our headquarters (3 Township Road,
Richboro) for a brief interview and to meet our staff. Successful applicants will be brought into
the organization as a probationary member. You are approved for probationary service at a
monthly meeting held on the first Monday of each month at Station #3 in Richboro. After
completion of orientation and training, the department administration will determine when
you become a full, regular fire fighter. A criminal background check is initially required and will
be completed by our personnel. There is a state requirement that you obtain a clearance from
the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History website, and a link will be provided following interview.
