Long before the housing development and the shopping centers, Northampton Township was a community of farmers, with the village of Richboro as its hub. The potential for property loss or death from fire was low. Even so, a group of concerned residents gathered in 1914 to charter a fire company to serve the township. They called it the Richboro Fire Company No. 1. One hundred years later, the Company has grown into the Northampton Fire Department that serves a population of over 40,000 people. Today, the company responds to 1000 Fire, Rescue and EMS calls a year.

Any Township resident who’s well water system or any other utilities continue to be affected by last night’s storms can come to the Richboro and Holland fire stations to fill water containers for use at home. Please bring your own containers, and hoses will be available in the rear of both station. This is NON-DRINKING WATER ONLY!
There are a number of power outages affecting our area due to last nights storms, and more possible if more severe weather arrives later today. Throughout the County, there have been multiple CARBON MONOXIDE emergencies already caused by improper generator safety practices. PLEASE remember that with the immense convenience these appliances offer during power outages, they can be EXTREMELY dangerous (carbon monoxide, fire, electrocution, home electrical system damage) if used improperly!!!

Good afternoon! The severe thunderstorm risk has increased for some areas later this afternoon and evening. Damaging straight-line winds are the main threat, however frequent cloud to ground lightning will occur with any stronger storms. Stay weather aware!
Just before midnight last night, Engine 83 with a crew of 4 volunteers responded to assist Doylestown Fire Co #1 on Box 19-02 for a building fire at a recycling facility. While en route, they were advised by fire dispatch to respond on box 66-24 with Warwick Township Fire Company No. 1 for a possible structure fire. After clearing that call, they continued to the Doylestown incident and operated on scene until around 6am.
